Wastewater treatment practices exhibit substantial variation throughout the country; nevertheless, most treatment plants typically involve several discernible processes. This course delves into both the theoretical underpinnings and practical aspects of these processes, with the goal of furnishing you with the foundational knowledge essential for embarking on a career in the wastewater treatment field.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the conclusion of this course, students will be proficient in the following:
Recognizing the responsibilities associated with wastewater treatment plant operation and process control.
Identifying proper and secure operating procedures and adept sampling and laboratory testing techniques.
Summarizing the foundational concepts of biology, chemistry, and mathematics, as well as the biological and physical processes integral to wastewater treatment.
Enhancing their test-taking skills by completing quizzes and tests comprehensively covering each lesson's material.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER ATTENDING
This course is open to individuals keen on acquiring knowledge concerning the operation and maintenance of community wastewater systems. This includes, but is not limited to, owners, managers, supervisors, chief operators, shift operators, trainees, laboratory personnel, and maintenance workers involved in municipal wastewater treatment systems. Notably, this course is sanctioned for those preparing to take the FDEP Class C Wastewater Operator exam. Your certificate of completion is valid for five years; so it is best to schedule the Class C wastewater state exam within this timeframe.
